Common Questions

How do I add a site to my friction list?

Sign in at frictionbox.app, navigate to your site list, and click the add button. Enter the domain you want to gate and choose a box type. If you have the Chrome extension installed, your list syncs automatically.

The extension isn't intercepting my sites.

Make sure the extension has site access permissions. Open the extension popup and check for a permission banner. If prompted, click "Grant Site Access." Also verify the site is enabled (not toggled off) in your list.

Can I use FrictionBox without the extension?

Yes. You can preview and try all boxes at frictionbox.app without installing anything. The extension is only needed to intercept real site navigations in your browser.

How do I cancel my Plus subscription?

Go to Settings, find the Plan section, and click "Manage." This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel or update your subscription.

How do I clear my data?

Go to Settings, scroll to the Data section, and click "Clear all local data." This removes all FrictionBox data from your browser. Synced data on the server is not affected.

Browser Support

The FrictionBox web app works in all modern browsers. The Chrome extension requires Google Chrome or a Chromium-based browser (Brave, Edge, Arc, etc.).
